Silver Jewelry

Silver is considered to be one of the most holy and sacred metals. Silver is a soft metal that can create intricate designs. Because silver itself is so soft it has to be alloyed with another metal. Sterling silver is the most common alloy- combining copper and silver.

Silver has been used for jewelry since 4000 B.C. Most silver today comes from Peru and Mexico. Because of its affordability silver is one of the first metals jewelry makers learn to work with.

With its versatility, silver can be crafted into ornate pieces. Silver jewelry can also be set with precious or semi-precious stones to add color. A popular combination is silver with turquoise because they are both common in the areas from which they are mined. Many people love silver for its neutral color that goes well with most outfits and its ability to compliment most skin tones.
