Vintage Jewelry
Vintage never goes out of style. Not to mention that sometimes
a piece of vintage jewelry can fetch a pretty penny when sold to the
right people. One of the best parts about vintage jewelry is not only
wearing it, but searching for it can be like a treasure hunt.
Estate sales and garage sales are a great place to look for vintage
jewelry. Often the jewelry can be purchased for much less than what
it’s worth. Other great places to look include flea markets and
online auctions such as eBay. Buying vintage pieces at consignment and
antique shops however, may cost more.
To buy the best vintage pieces learn to recognize the age by identifying
certain features like closures and motifs. Especially prized pieces
will have the designer’s name somewhere on it. Never buy broken
jewelry or jewelry with missing stones; it usually costs more to repair
the piece than it is worth.
